Grading
All skins are carefully selected by experienced and fully trained skilled workers according to wool length and quality, size substance and shape.
Packaging and Shipping
Skins are pressed & strapped using specially designed skin packing machines, packed onto plastic or treated wooden pallets. Pallets are labeled and numbered with full description. Shipping is usually sea freight in 40 and 20 foot containers. Official health certificates are provided for all exported goods in accordance with the requirements of the country of import.Double Face Lambskins Fine wool skins which start to become available in Spring from unshorn young lambs and are suitable for premium quality garment and footwear double face, decoration rugs and foxy trim. As the season continues into Summer & Autumn the skins become larger and the wool length longer.
Nappa Lambskins
Coarse wool lambskins also start to become available in Spring from unshorn young lambs, these are suitable for top quality nappa production. Nappa lambskins size and wool length increase as the season continues into Autumn and Winter.
Nappa Sheepskins
Skins from mature sheep which have been farm shorn in Spring and are initially bare, without wool. As the season progresses the wool regrows and fine wool skins are selected out.
The short wool season is June to October, the long wool season from
November to May.
Double Face Sheepskins
Fine wool sheepskins are selected out of the Run Sheepskins and are usually available from October to April. Typical uses would be for decoration rugs, lining & car seat covers.
